CASA is a major non-profit community-based provider of mental health services for children, adolescents and their families within greater Edmonton and from Central and Northern Alberta. Since 1988, CASA has provided assessment and treatment services for up to 4,000 children and adolescents from ages three to 18 each year through a continuum ranging from consultation in community outreach settings to intensive treatment programs.
We are currently looking for data driven leader to manage our Evaluation and Business Intelligence Department. In this role you will liaise with multiple different parts of the organization with your team to effectively evaluate CASA’s clinical programs and help further CASA’s core values.
**Job Purpose**
Reporting to the director, people and culture, the manager, evaluation and business intelligence, is responsible for leading the organization’s business intelligence and evaluation team and strategy. The manager, evaluation and business intelligence will work collaboratively within the leadership team to support evaluation of clinical programs, the use of business intelligence analytics, and organizational performance metrics aligned with CASA’s core values of community, patient-centred and family-inclusive care, collaboration, equity, diversity and inclusivity, and outcomes-based accountability.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Develops and implements organizational and program-specific clinical evaluation frameworks in collaboration with the clinical leadership team.
- Oversees and contributes to the design, collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative clinical program data.
- Consults with leaders throughout the organization to understand and define evaluation of program deliverables and outcomes.
- Champions the importance of data collection and data quality throughout all levels of the organization.
- Ensures use of appropriate methodology and approach for data analyses and evaluation.
- Reviews and provides feedback to data and evaluation analysts on internal and external reports for quality assurance.
- Ensures external evaluation reporting requirements are met.
- Collaborates with the manager, research to identify potential research projects of organizational interest and provides accessibility to data.
- Develops and implements a business intelligence program to support data-driven decision-making and organizational strategy.
- Contributes to the development and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) at the program and organizational level.
- Prepares a variety of communication and knowledge translation materials including reports, infographics, dashboards and presentations.
- Provides recommendations on innovative software and data platforms and ensures effective implementation when needed.
- Collaborates with all business operations teams to facilitate efficient information flow and provide access to high quality data.
- Provides leadership, coaching, mentorship to data and evaluation analysts and research assistants, including regular performance reviews.
**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, health sciences, information science, medicine, computer science or other related degree. A graduate degree would be an asset.
- Experience developing and implementing healthcare evaluation frameworks.
- Knowledge and/or experience in business intelligence is a strong asset.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency in one or more coding languages and/or data analysis software programs like SQL, R, Stata, SAS, Python.
- Experience in a leadership role with budgeting responsibilities is a strong asset.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau and/or Power BI is an asset.
